Welcome to my about me page.
I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri with my parents and my two younger siblings. Family was and still is an important part of my life! I’ve been fortunate to travel the world for my career in Fashion Modeling. It’s been 2 years since I have created this blog to share my travel, health, fitness, and mindfulness tips. Along with a diaries section that include Poems and deep insightful thoughts that buzz about through my mind.
Health and Fitness: My journey to mindfulness started 3 years ago when I was at my whits end of almost 7 years of having chronic stomach pain. I had tried everything outside of looking at my diet and how I dealt with stress. Pills, laxatives, teas, you name it. While living in my Miami at the time, I had seen several Western doctors with the last one saying, “If you’re not going to take a pill for this, then I guess stomach pain is something you’re going to have to live with.” I left feeling stunned, defeated while also determined to not let that be the case. I was shown by my partner at the time to look at the problem rather than a quick fix solution.
Through this journey I learned that what I was putting in my body is imperative to my over all health. How I spoke to my body was also a major factor in my over all well being. I changed my language with my body and started to work with it instead of against it. My head was no longer floating above me looking down at my body pains. I was one with myself. Mind, body and soul. I incorporated yoga, meditation, self healing books, journaling, clean eating, and exercise into my daily routines.
Traveling and Modeling: 5 years ago this June I had an agent in KC,MO that believed in me enough to catapult me into the fashion world and thus sprung the endless markets and cities chasing the modeling seasons. I’ve spent 3-5 months at a time living all over the world in Greece, Australia, Miami, New York, Germany, Cape Town, and now my home base Los Angeles. Through my journey I have experienced so many significantly different cultures and have met diverse and engaging people along the way.
I started to learn that life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you. Each experience we have is a story we are making up about that moment in time. We can choose how we write our own novel. xo
